Baliklaro Alumni and Scholars Sportfest 2026

The celebration of SMCFI’s 35th Anniversary moved from the function halls straight to the hardcourt! Day two of the homecoming festivities brought out the competitive and playful side of the Marian community with Baliklaro, an all day Sportsfest packed with sports, intense rivalries, and traditional Pinoy games. Hosted and organized by the energetic current scholars of SMCFI, the 12 hour sports marathon ran from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, turning the Duenas Gymnasium in Central Signal, Taguig City into a roaring arena of team spirit. The tournament divided both alumni and current scholars into four fierce color houses: Team Red, Team Blue, Team Yellow, and Team Green. The unique mix of younger scholars and seasoned alumni on the same squads fostered incredible teamwork, bridging generations through healthy competition. The day opened with calculated matches requiring sharp focus and steady hands: Chess: Mind games and strategic traps took center stage as players fought for board dominance. Badminton: Fast paced rallies and powerful smashes woke up the crowd as pairs battled it out on the courts. As the sun reached its peak, the energy inside the Duenas Gym shifted to high gear: Dodgeball: Fast reflexes and diving saves kept everyone on their toes in a chaotic, fun filled showdown. Volleyball: Teams showcased excellent chemistry at noon, serving up intense spikes and solid net blocks that kept the scores neck and neck. The stadium reached a fever pitch at exactly 3:00 PM for the most anticipated sport of the day—Basketball. The court shook with physical plays, clutch three pointers, and nostalgic fast breaks as the color teams fought relentlessly for bragging rights. SMCFI took a beautiful detour back to childhood with a special segment dedicated to Larong Pinoy (Traditional Filipino Games). The gym filled with nostalgic laughter as alumni relived their youth, proving that no matter how much time passes, no one forgets how to play like a kid. The long day concluded with the much awaited Awarding Ceremony. Trophies and medals were handed out to the top performers, but the true prize was the camaraderie built between the alumni who paved the way and the scholars continuing the SMCFI legacy today.
